2007 wrap up
2007 has seen another year of very successful teaching at www.flycastingschool.com !!! Spey Casting continues to grow and we're in the thick of it. It is a very enjoyable (and effortless if you know how to do it right) method to catch big fish, on big flies, and on long casts. Our students continue to experience quick success as noted by Paul Manual below. In 2008 as well as continuing to offer top notch instruction at home we'll venture to South Andros for a Bone Fishing school and the Gaspé for a Traditional Spey Casting School.

Hi Rick -
I just returned from my trip to King Salmon, Alaska. The
weather was bitterly cold and fishing was generally
poor, however, I did catch this big resident rainbow on
my 9/10 Loomis Dredger GLX spey rod, the Airflow Skagit
head and ridge running line. I used a full 12 feet of
the sinking tip and the fish never had a chance
against my Ross Momentum 7 reel. I was swinging one of
those heavily weighted, articulated flesh flies that I
showed you.
Thanks
for the spey casting lessons and single-handed tune up.
I got this great fish as a result of a long double spey
cast into unwadable rapids. I also caught quite a few
rainbows over 20 inches on my 8/9 Kispiox spey rod,
using a floating tip and beads.

2006 recap - Wow !
What an awesome year 2006 was
for www.flycastingschool.com. It was great to see such enthusiasm from
students such as Peter Lami and Bill Kessler who traveled all the way from
Atlanta to attend our Skagit Casting Instruction here in Ontario. What a
privilege it was to teach all our casting enthusiasts this year. Some of our
students provided feedback - read their comments
here.
As a Casting Instructor I'm always looking to improve my teaching skills and
this year I had the good fortune to assist teaching with Fly-Fusion
Magazine casting writer Chris Seipio from British Columbia and Teeny
Fly-Line designer Bruce Chard
http://brucechard.com/ from the Florida Keys. Both Chris and Bruce
are outstanding instructors, the time spent with these pros was invaluable
in making me a better instructor.
